Rio is known for their sport mp3 players, but they also make a casual player—the Carbon. The Carbon comes in three different sizes. Its main purpose is to play music; however, you can record a voice memo and it has a stopwatch for exercising.
The Carbon won't display photos or videos. You can't listen to the FM radio, or track special events. We we're disappointed the player doesn't have a hold switch, so you could accidentally change the settings on your player while jogging or while it is in your pocket.
The Carbon supports standard music formats like mp3, wma and wav so you don't have to convert all your files. It doesn't support any other types, so if you use a less popular sound file, it will have to be converted.
The Rio Carbon is slightly bigger than the iPod Mini and weighs about the same. It has button navigation so finding your music is accurate but not necessarily quick. The Carbon has a 20-hour battery life, which is long for a mini mp3 player.
Digital Networks has various support options so you can find the answers to your questions.
Overall, this is a less expensive player, but doesn't have many of the extra features.
